When I started this Snowflake quilted wall hanging it was snowing and as I am writing this, there is snow in the forecast again. It is still very much winter here in Missouri and everyone is really looking forward to warmer temperatures. That being said, I love the thought of how each individual snowflake is different - almost like fingerprints! How cool is it that God creates each one differently. This is my version of a snowflake. I wanted to keep it simple and keep the focus more so on the design than on the fabric. I used Robert Kaufman’s Kona solid Cadet for the snowflake itself and Kona Snow (what else?) for the background. I divided the design into four quarters and pieced one quarter at a time. For the backing fabric I used True Blue by Brigitte Heitland from Zen Chic for Moda. I quilted intersecting curves all over the quilt. I finished it by using the same backing fabric for the binding.
